OLD BUSINESS
- Susie - The new member service went very well. Ten new members attended. We have had 20 new members since October of 2006.
- Laurie - The Purim Spiel was delightful. The Spiel was preceded by an interesting potluck dinner. The board agreed that Ellen Friedman did a great job in creating a wonderful performance.
- Jonathan - the cantorial soloist and Laurie are trying to plan an outdoor service this summer. The service will take place Friday night July 25 on the Green with possibly a picnic beforehand.
THEATER PARTY – Jonathan Selinger
- Jonathan -- the theater party went very well.
SOCIAL ACTION – Kim Strausser
- Kim has already received about 10 responses from Mazon and she is expecting more before the second Seder...
CEMETERY – Scott Levin
- Scott is drafting a model for the cemetery since the committee hasn’t been able to meet. Alan is working on policies and procedures which could be integrated into the cemetery rules.
TREASURER’S REPORT - Scott Levin
- Summit County has changed the status of our land on Prospect Street and assessed the value at $15,000 a year which brings our taxes on the property to about $2,400 a year. Various uses for the property were discussed, but no decision was made.
RITUAL COMMITTEE – Laurie Frankino
- The new prayer books are all out in the sanctuary. Old usable books with book plates were returned to donors who wanted them back, good ones will be shipped to a new temple in Florida and the non-usable ones will be taken to Cleveland and buried according to Jewish law. Alan commended Laurie on her handling of the prayer books at services.
